Battery HELP??!?!

I recently drove my car around with no license and it came back to me when i dumbly left my HID's on and the Optima Red Top that powers my black beauty was drained of all its power. i jump started the beast and it ran well i drove it around the block and let it run for approx. 15 min. that was sunday. i got in my car yesterday to give it a routine startup and once again it was dead the voltometer only showed 8 volts and i am concerned that the HID's completely killed the battery. is there any suggestions that people have to help me out? Should i run it longer after i jump start it tonight??

Get the battery charged first.

wow that's weird especially with a red top - i know the red top is more of a starting battery so it should have no problem - possibly look into the yellow top if your hid's are drawing that much current from your battery. i've never heard of hid's killing a battery though especially an optima! if you get a chance to jump it, let the battery charge to it's full potential. but even for an optima it doesnt take long for it to fully charge up again after being completely drained. give it a shot tonight and let it run longer than you did on sunday , but i'm almost 100% positive that your red top was fully charged after you let your car run for 15 min. weird scenario, hopefully this can be of some help to you . good luck peace bro
