Ok, so my check engine light was on for about a year, complaining of a faulty signal between the TCM and a vehicle speed sensor. I didnt do anything about it, and *knock on wood* the light turned off last week.

but just today, i was coming back home from work in rush hour traffic, and mid-trip, my airbag light began to flash the entire trip home. i stopped off for dinner, and turned the car on again...still flashing. here is some pertinent history: i had replaced my steering wheel about a year ago, and the airbag light has never flashed since we bought the car new in 97. any ideas? thanks!

does your speedometer and everything work? i had this problem when i temporarily messed up my gauges doing a gauge face swap but i fixed it. i think the speed sensor and tcm are connected can trigger both cel and the airbag light...or is it the OD light?!

there is a write up in the faq's that tells how to decode and clear the blinking light. goodluck

Get in your car and open the door. Then turn the key forward into the on position (so the dash lights are on). Then press button that tells if the door is open or not ten times within ten seconds. Turn the key to off, shut your door and then start your car.

That is what I did to get rid of the flashing airbag light on my car.

ok, light is still flashing on the way to work this morning...

apparently, when my check engine light was on about the TCM and speed sensors, the OD light would flash periodically whenever i would start the car (it would not flash EVERY time i started it, just every 5th or so times). anyhow, i will try out the door switch thing and report back.
