Would a dirty MAF sensor cause my idle problem?

Yup, I'm just trying to get everything out in the open as far as possibilities for my idle problem - the infamous dip when the clutch pedal is depressed/neutral is used, etc. One of my other threads on the subject can be found here (there's also a list of all the maintanence shiz I've done). http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=381671 Anyways, I've just been reading through the threads, and someone asked if the MAFS can be cleaned using TB/Carb cleaner (the same stuff used for the TB/IACV cleaning). I guess they figured it could be done, and some came in and said that they do it as a reg. maintanence item.
OK, so would a dirty MAFS cause my idle situation? (I realize that they suggested a vacuum leak, but since I don't have the stuff I need right now, I'm looking for other ways to help the situation.
Thanks,
Louis

a MAf cant reay get dirty, it can break tho.

There shouldnt realy be much dirt in there and if there is its just a tiny esistor thing that cant realy be cleaned.

Idle problems

I had a similar problem once I changed the starter in my Max. Everytime I would slow down to stop my rpms would drop down to far once I pushed in the clutch or stepped on the brakes while in neutral. The problem turned out to be that my baseline idle was set to low. So I would suggest either taking it to a shop and having them adjust it or get one of those do it yourself books that you can get at autozone and it will tell you step by step how to adjust it. But for the time being just turn on your fan to the first setting that causes the engine to rev up slightly but just enough that it won't stall when slowing down.
