Whats the deal man? PM me. If your serious about this I have a core you can send to them. That way you have no downtime. I'll ask $40 shipped for it or $30 if you come pick it up.

Ryan,

I have the VB mod from Jeff. It's been in the car since 2003 and has covered more than 20k miles till this day.

No problems and Jeff is definitely a nice guy to deal with. I should know since I drove all the way to Glen Clove, Long Island from Milwaukee to get it done. I have a tranny cooler installed at that time as well.

With touque come pressure. If something in the tranny breaks under extreme pressure, there is a chance that it could "shoot" something out of the casing of the tranny. A bulletproof tranny will keep the high flying parts inside the tranny, keeping you safe.

the VB mod helps take the lag time between shifts away. This results in more responsive shifts and can help extend the life on the tranny. The one downfall is that the quicker shifts create more heat. Get a tranny cooler and that is no longer an issue.

These are for the automatics?... If so... what's a typical cost of labor to get it done?

I disagree. Quicker shifts reduce heat due to less slippage. This is why DR is just as good as VB.

Hmmm i dont know i could go VB or just 5 sp. Gains are greater with 5sp but i guess not everyone is a fan of always shifting.

Which of you VB guys have Stage I, Stage II, Stage III? I've been told that the Stage II is pretty jarring in city driving. I might go with Stage I but I'm not sure if it could handle boost.

I have stage II. (the 1st gen, now the 2nd gen has a faster 2-3 shift than mine) Under slower acceleration, it can be a bit harsh, but you get used to it. Over time, I've subconsciously trained my foot to accelerate to a smooth shift.

What's an average cost for the Stage I VB?
On http://www.maximumtuning.net/ they have 3 stages. Are we speaking of the same place?

same place, same price. all three cost the same. it's just a matter of preference. Your best bet is to call Jeff about the cost.
