....when people ask what kind of exhaust you have and find out the sounds was the intake growling.

....when your racing a honda and let off the gas to give them a chance and then burn by again.

I'd like to see your list. Unless you count Acuras, I don't think very many Hondas will "**** on us" stock vs. stock.

Honda owners probably don't take you seriously because you keep telling them your maxima is fast

Jclaw i'm glad your here to set us straight. i can tell by they way you talk you have much more experience then i do relating to maximas and cars in general hell probably more then most of the people on this board.

oh btw i get to drive a 14.1 second maxima when ever i feel like it. i know what a quick maxima is like. note i said quick. not fast.
i also know what 95% of the other maximas are like. i drive my father stock SE whenever i want, and my modded GLE.
how many different maximas do you drive on a daily basis?
can you really compair a 10 year old car and engine to a brand new accord. i only mention the honda accord because it came to my head.

if you think a 3000lb NA 3.0 FWD car is fast...your fooling yourself.

my GLE boat only weighs 250lbs more then yours.
my GLE boat is only missing 2 bolt ons and it's still slow compaired to most new v6 cars in the same class.

if you really think your maxima is fast thats nice.
if it helps you sleep better at night good for you.

i'm not going to have this argument with you it's stupid
i'm sorry this thread has been whored up.
I appologize to all who had to read this crap argument.

and i leave you with this: arguing on the internet is like running a race in the special olympics. even if you win your still

you know you're a 4th gen driver when you rev to 4k for no apparent reason, than to hear the growl of the hacked stock airbox.

by the way, Jime put around 1700 dollars in mods into his stock '95 GXE auto, and he ran a 12.1..... i'd say that's pretty fast...and you're not breaking the bank in the process....

I'd say i have a pretty fast max....i have a 98 GLE....converting to 5spd VLSD and other various bolt ons and such...I like my car, i'm not going to say it'
s the fastest on the road, but it can definitely hold its own.

Jime ran with a 150 shot of NOS. come on. not to discredit him but why bring him up.

HAL runs fast as **** too. why bring him up.
i'm talking about normal maximas. normal modifications.
slap a big *** turbo or NOS shot to anything and it will be fast.
pahlease people.

i notice the only people saying maximas ar fast are young kids. i wonder why...maybe you've never driven a fast car. or maybe all the people around you drive slow cars.

on my way home from a GTP club meet at the dyno this afternoon a stock Dodge Wagon smoked my ***....

Hey i think auto maximas are slow. The trannys suck. I got beaten by a ford explorer. On the other hand my 95 stick maxima is fast. It wieghs 250 pounds ligther then the auto, great take off and the only mod i have is y-pipe. I have noticed the new cars that are comming out. Faster 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times. Small 4 bangers are putting out more HP than my v6. I myself is a good driver.

Sure, you could not mod your car and put a nice down payment on a new one, but that would still cost you $20k+ (for anything decent). You'd have a pretty nice Maxima if you invested even half of that...one that should do more than compete with that Hyundai that smoked ya

That would be two...not many in my book. I think those are about the only ones that'll do it.

a new civic SI is on par with us. new accords will rape us, so will a TL/CL. im not a fan of hondas but im not gonna lie to myself either.

as for just using mod money as a down payment on a nice new car..ya you cna do that, but im 19 years old and the concept of having to pay $300-400 a month really does not appeal to me. id rather buy an older used car that has a lot of potential and can be made to go fast with very little money...like a '95 240

funny, i might have a cherry from factory, because my car is not that slow.
I ran a new accord v6 stock vs. my intake, ypipe, exhaust and i was right next to him till he started pulling on me, but after 80mph though. its weird, sometimes my car feels really realy fast. but sometimes slow.

...when u still cant break 200whp with bolt-ons
...when a sentra is able to run side by side with your maxima that has almost every bolt on.
....when an altima has a bigger motor then u do.
....when u mod you car and all your friends buy a bc and leave u in the dust again.
....when u race cars with motors in similar size to yours and u tend lose.
....when your car no longer has the same manual tranny it was sold with and u didnt replace it due to a performance reason

and to be honest, our maximas dont really do to many performance thing well. many maxes with s/c are running low 14's-high 13's. we have a few exceptions but they have spent alot of time and money getting their cars that way. i'm proud of their efforst but most max owners would never break 14.5 with their car and by todays standards that just sucks.

and nots mention the rattles our cars have. i have been in many lowered cars on harsher setups then my gc's n agx's and their cars make no sounds at all. mine i leave a gas station and my gf thinks my car is falling apart.

and the knock sensor issues

I keep reading complaints that the 4th Gen Maxima is slower than new cars...guess what: It's cheaper to make a Maxima rape a new car than it is to buy a new car.

If the quickness of the 4th Gen is the only thing holding you back, don't bother with a new car...make yours faster. For the money, it's much faster than the brand new sedans of today.

when ppl argue about how fast their car is

maximas ARE fast cars period.
were talking about a 10 year old car keeping up with a 2005 accord, which car sounds stronger?

when brand new cars (especially 4 cyl) don't get the gas mileage that you do.

30 mpg beat that @ 190 hp.
