Anyone had this happen?

1999 maxima, 85k miles, started last week. I reset the codes, and it came back on sunday.

Please tell me that replacing an EGR valve is simple.

any advice appreciated.

Welcome Evan! Please Read the Stickies and Faq's. That is covered in there and I too have it but haven't resolved it yet. Many people clean it out first, for some it's a clogged, pinched, or disconnected vacuum hose. For other's, it's the valve that needs to be replaced. Your answer is in the stickies above so goodluck.

Ok,

Looks simple enough. I read most of the sticky notes above, but didnt' see anything on the EGR. Is there a way to search the forums? I've not seen anything indicative that it's possible.

Doesn't look like a bad job.

Do you recommend a dealer part - or just getting one from the local parts store?

What code are you getting? 99% of the time it's not the EGR itself..many people in here have replaced EGR solenoid valve and their problems went away...hopefully this is the case...this page may also help:
