This is why I'm still running a 2.25. The guy at the exhaust shop told me to keep what I have and then we laughed about the guy with a Civic that came in for a 3" catback. Needless to say, he came back complaining about not having any power and the shop charged him more money to add 2 resonators.

i just saw stone mountain racing stainless headers/ypipe polished with gaskets going for 290 shipped...they sound like a steal considering a ypipe is around 290-310 shipped intalled with gaskets...my question is who the hell is stone mountain racing...hows there fitment..any bee's in can?...anybody got them?...arethey worth it or should i just go with the warpspeed and throw 40 into my pocket?

i think i might jump on them since im only paying 40 dollars extra for the polished headers and maybe 5 extra horses(or not?) any thoughts?

"THIS SUPER STAINLESS SETUP HAS ALSO THE CORRECT
O2 BUNGS ON THE Y-PIPE

42MM DIAMETER TUBING ( NOT 38MM LIKE " OTHERS " )[ the company is comparing them to obx which is **** from what i have read]
STAINLESS PRIMARIES
HUGE GAIN FROM THE Y PIPE ALONE
3/8TH FLANGES
TIG WELDS" Their claim.

And to think, 2 year agos I posted that using a "stepped" exhaust was key to making the most power on an NA engine. By stepping the exhaust from a 2.5" Y-pipe to a 2.3" B-pipe (stock) to a 2.20" (stock) muffler, you keep the exhaust velocity up and make more power. I got all kinds of crap for posting that.

i was thinking the same thing. it looks like the y-pipe is the bang for the buck for n/a and the headers will give greater benefits to FI. the headers seem to have more of a hp gain up top and a overall performance gain but slows the car down a bit at takeoff. i dont know if the weather is a factor because i think it would effect both performances. i would love to try some headers one of these days.

I remember that, and you sure did catch some heat for that. Interesting thread however

And get this as we know the vr6 is a 3.2 liter, and the guy says he is going to 2 inch.
What makes me think they may not help us (bigger piping) is this car runs 11's NA and has 260hp dont know if its whp sounds like it.
But ill still be purchasing the headersin the future to put on my 3.5 which will be reving at least to 7500rpm and have big juicy cams i will have a dyno without headers in a few weeks when i get the car back.

So when i put headers on i will see how they gain with that setup .
