CV-joint again, help me please.

I know this has been addressed, but why is it so difficult for me? How did you guys personally get it in, it dosen't go in nearly as easy for me. Did you use a hammer and wood? And if you did, where did you strike the cvshaft at? Did you put vasoline on the end of the shaft? Should I listen for a click, and how much force should I need to put it in?

Please help me, I need my car by tonight.

Might be good for your lips, but I don't think it is an approved Nissan lubricant.

I got a reply last time that vasoline was ok for the tranny, and did the same thing. I'll try grease to be safe though, lol.

2DaMax, did you hit it real hard? And is the click loud? And also, I can stick my hand down the engine bay by my intake and feel some of the shaft still, does the thick metal part of the CV lay flush with the tranny, or will there be some shaft sticking out?

I usually use a fairly long block of wood and a hammer. If you have an axle with a metal lip around it, use that as the contact point for the wood; if not, I'd definitely put a rag on the end of the wood to avoid cutting the boot...be careful.

It shouldn't be too hard to get it in this way. I'd imagine it's pretty damn difficult otherwise.

I couldn't fix your brakes, so I made your horn louder

I'd also put the axle nut back onto the end of the axle , turn it several threads so that the nut is flush with the end of the axle, and then hit it. This ensures that you don't destroy any threads.
