rear drivers side window broken!!!!

Today after washing my car I was drying my rear drivers side window off and when I closed the door, the window slid all the way down! I tried rolling it back up w/ no luck. the window motor works fine because when I lift the window back up with my hands the window button works to roll the window down, but when it goes down it stays down. when I do try to roll the window back up the motor makes the noise likes its going up, then when it gets to the point that would be the top, it makes a loud clicking noise.. Does anyone know what the problem could be??? Is there a specific piece I need or will I have to replace the whole regulator????

You need a new regulator. Its a common problem in maximas dating back to 1989. They still havent got it right

coils was only a problem for 99's...

i don't think it's common for 4th gens either for the window regulators to break. try removing your door panel and seeing if the piece that holds the window on snapped off or they might be right and you might just need a whole new regulator.
