heavier steering

drove my car to work this morning, and steering became heavier and stiffer. Any major problem?

Just remove the whole system. Its going to fxck up your entire car. OMG! Run for the hills.

Seriously, this is not enough info to go off of. What does it do at idle? What does it do at varioius RPM's? Is the resivoir full? Is it leaking? Is the belt tight?

In November, before I disconnected mine it would be harder when cold. This was due to the belt slipping because it wasn't warm. When warm the rubber grips the pulley's much better.

The recent belt replacement should make your first suspect culprit be a loose belt. New belts stretch.

rpm jumps alittle bit at normal temp, does rpm have something to do with power steering?

The RPM will jump when turning wheel at idle. This is because the IACV opens. The tool you are refering to is just a fancy fish scale.

You could have a low tire pressure, Or your rack & pinion needs some lubrication.
