automatic ecu in a 5 speed
Car will run fine but you will get at least a half a dozen CEL codes. Been there and done that.
The idle thing is not a big deal. Sometimes when you shift into nuetral the rpms will just for a second then come back down. Does not cause any driveability issues.
But why get an auto ECU when there are tons of 5spd ECU's to chose from at www.car-parts.com. Make sure you match up the PN from you current ECU to the replacement ECU to ensure no CEL's. But any 95-98 ECU will work in any 95-98 max just depends on if you can put up with the CEL's or not
