I'm still breaking in the setup so I haven't really got on the brakes very hard yet. But all in all everything seems to be working fine. There was some squeking/minor grinding, but that is normal in breaking in new rotors/pads. But the main reason I did this swap is my stock calipers sucked(installed new rotors and I still had vibration in the pedal, this is common in all stock maxima calipers, my girlfriends' 5th gen has only 50K and it has the same problem). After replacing stock calipers w/300ZX calipers, this vibration is finally gone!

Overall the swap was easy, except I had to replace the steel brake lines from the master cylinder to the the wheel well on both sides due to my 96' having 135K and the fittings rounded off, but nothing to difficult!
I used the 91' Twin Turbo setup
300zx TT Aluminum Calipers(89'-91') 92'-96' have cast iron calipers,both work fine
300zx TT Brembo cross-drilled rotors(30mm)
240sx-300zx conversion stainless brake lines

Can you just put on 300zx 30mm Calipers or do you need to replace the rotors and the brake lines too? I would like some more info or a write up on this, Also you need at least 17 inch rims right?

btw deezo your calipers are beautiful, do you have to keep cleaning the chrome? and imo i think you should at leas get slotted or crossed drils they will look sick. then again thats just me

Let me get this straight, 300ZX rotors bolt on directly with 300ZX stock rotors to our Maxima's along with steel brake lines (240sx to 300zx ebay). Is there a difference between 300ZX TT and NA rotors?
And if you want to go to 13" cobra rotors jeff92se sells conversion brackets?
Hey Jeff do you sell the any kits minus the calipers?
This looks like it kicks *** on other big brake kits on a cost factor.

Everything is direct bolt on. There is a little work to get the rotors to clear but it is minor. The 300ZX TT rotors are 30mm thick, the N/A rotors are 26mm. All that is needed for 13 in. rotors is the brackets from jeff92se and the rotors themselves.

What's needed to fit the 13" cobra rotors:
1) 1 set of adaptor brackets from me. $45 shipped.
2) 1 set of adaptor rings to fit the cobra rotors onto the maxima hub. Ford has a larger hub bore than Nissan, thus a hub ring is needed. I have ONE extra set but Candiman was the guy that sells them. $45 shipped.
3) 1 set of additional bolts/nuts/washers to hold the bracket onto the maxima spindle. YOu can use the stock hardware to attach the 300z caliper to the adaptor bracket.
remember 30mm calipers needed. I dont' sell the calipers or lines. But they are easily obtained.

alright let me get this str8, i have a set of 92-96 300zx rotors and calipers front and rear. I also have a set of steel brake lines.
is it just a matter of bolting everything on?
do i need to have the rotors milled 3-4 mm?
also do i have to buy the jeff92se brackets?

the calipers will bolt on..... make sure and use some washers to space the bolts if you use your Maxima bolts for the calipers.... they are a few mm to long and will damage the threads in the caliper.... you will have to remove the dust shields from the knuckle they will not fit with the Z rotors ..... you will need to have the diameter of the rotors machined ( I think it was 3mm) .... you may need to grind the ridge on the lower control arm to clear the rotor when the wheel is turned.... for brake lines.... you need the conversion line for a 240sx .. or you can use the factory lines from a 300ZX if you have the metal lines on the calipers.... allow yourself a day to do the install it sounds simple but the little adjustments and mods add up... and you don't need adapters if you are using Z rotors ... only cobra rotors

Only way to get the Z brakes on the rear is to custom fabricate an entire new parking brake setup for it...
I sell all the parts you need for the conversion, as well as larger front setups using the 2004 Max rotor (12.6").
