I am selling my motorcycle (02 CBR F4i) I have a buyier lined up. what do I need to do? In other words, what all do i need to have the buyier sign?

I'm sure it varies from state to state. Preferably you have a bill of sale (which outlines the buyer is buying your bike), that states the VIn, year, mileage, and says the bike is free of all liens...etc etc. The bill of sale also says how much is being given for the full transfer of title on such and such date...buyer paid in full.

Most importantly, the title gets signed over. Though without the Bill of Sale, some contest could go on I'm sure.

Preferably the buyer gives you a copy of their ID and you check the ID for validity (atleast take down the DL number). Preferably the buyer gives you cash (check for legit notes..heh). 2nd is cashiers check. Take nothing else but those (cash, certified cashiers check). A regular check can be cancelled before you deposit it (ie. stop payment). Take no money orders (can be cancelled easily too).

Preferably the Bill of Sale is notarized, and this can happen in a bank. Alot of banks have a notary on-staff. The buyers bank could also make a Certified Cashier's Check while ur there.
