check engine lights....O2 sensors...what do i do?
hey guys,
well i took my car in to the shop yesterday b/c my check engine light came on. the code i pulled was 0510. nissan said this meant "closed throttle sensor circuit". didn't know what the hell that meant. i figured that the engine popped up because i had RT Hi-flo cat that went bad on me...which i ignored just because of time constraints of getting it fixed/switched out. well, i ended up getting a new RT Hi-flo cat, switched it out, and hoped that the check engine light would go off. it sure didn't. so it's at this point that i go to nissan, give them my code, and tell them to let me know what exactly is causing this. they call me back today saying they are pulling code 0318, which has to do with the rear O2 sensor. as the service lady told me, the rear 02 sensor is mimicking the front 02 sensor. Now I'm not too saavy with all these terms, but anybody know what this could be and why the code that nissan pulled out means?? i was hoping that the ecu just needs time to recognize the new cat, but nissan said that wasn't the case. any recommendations or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

just a correction in context from my previous post...instead of
"i figured that the engine popped up because i had"
i meant
"i figured that the check engine light popped up because i had"
sorry for that
