question about performance

i got my max about 2 weeks ago and i love it but theres one thing. its not accelerating like i thought it would. it comes stock 190 hp right. i can feel it in the higher gears but it takes so long to get me there. by the way i have a manual 95 se. also does my car come with the speed limiter? also how can i fix this acceleration prob if it is a problem thanks guys

How did you *think* it would accelerate? It's stock right? You do not have a speed limiter if it's a genuine SE.
What acceleration problem do you have? If it's driven the same since you got it, it's the same now. You should consider tuning it up if you havent already....how many miles you got?

its got 160k on it but everything was tuned up all fluids changed up before i got it. i just figured it would accelerate a lil faster like i would feel more power. whats the speeds i should rev to in each gear? cuz i go to about maybe 20 - 25 in first gear and im ready to change

Are you 100% sure it was tuned up?
How would you figure it should be faster though? How many other 5spd Maximas have you driven?
What RPM you shift at is your perogative...no one can tell you how to drive. Go to redline in every gear, or shift at 3k RPM.......your choice.

If you think it's acting sluggish...try cleaning your TB, running seafoam thru, fuel injector cleaner, plugs, air filter, fuel filter, cleaning your IAC valve, PVC valve...etc etc.

hey thanks ill try that and see what happens but one more question i thought redlining ruins the engine if u redline every gear.

Redline is there for a reason... - Yes if you beat the living hell out of your car everyday...internals wear out faster than normal, and possibly breaking shat. I take my car to redline very seldom. I have no reason to really....
If you know how to drive, and how to shift...you should use your best judgement when driving. Know how to control your car...take good care of it and it will take good care of you.
