Trying to add RCA inputs to stock Clarion Headunit - A few questions

As the title states, I'm attempting to get a set of RCA inputs on my clarion stock head unit (why every head unit doesn't come with RCA plugs boggles my mind).

I've tried using cassette adapters (yuck) and wireless fm modulators (yuck yuck), and now I'm trying to wire in a wired fm modulator. However, here is the catch, nissan uses a diversity antenna, while the fm modulator uses the standard motorola plugs (thanks nissan you jerks). Also, I cannot use an adapter that hooks into the AUX/CD input, as I have my six disc indash cd changer hooked up to it.

I tried cutting and splicing into the antenna, but met with poor results.

This plug, what are the two lines? Radio would not turn on without the thicker of the two connected (Power line?). On the thinner one, could I splice my fm modulator into there?

This is basically what I have right now, with the FM modulator inline with the smaller of the two lines, and the thicker line going straight through

This is what I'm thinking about doing:

how would that work? I use one of these now for my subs (have it tied off of my rear speakers), but how would I use that as an input for my radio?

No, I need RCA inputs for my reciever, so I can play my mp3 player through it. I don't need to get an RCA output of the sound, I already have that setup.

Because I paid $300 for an indash 6 disc changer, and I really don't feel like just throwing it away. Especially since I only paid $200 for the mp3 player I'm adding. I ended up paying $300 for the changer as I had to buy two, the first one didn't work and ups and the seller both refused to give me a refund.

You can still use the cd changer with another deck.
Most new decks have an AUX input you can use to for the MP3 player.

I just sold a Panasonic deck for a bill, that had front/rear/sub and Aux and CD changer outputs.

Yeah but the cd changer is proprietary to the clarion system, it does not have the standard cd changer plug on it, it has a wierd one that only works with that head unit.

Ok, I've done some more searching, and it looks like both wires are for the antennas, one for each, with the thick one being the main antenna (the one you rapidly notice).

What I'm down to now, is possibly just using that one antenna, and not using the one in the rear windshield, and just splicing it all in. Or, my other idea is to go with that third picture shown in the first post of this thread.

Any thoughts? Anyone know exactly what those two leads are? Why wouldn't my head unit turn on without the thicker cable attached?

Anyone taken these things apart? I'm going to go and try to splice it into the thicker cable (currently through the thin one) and just leaving the thin one not attached (as I'm assuming this is the rear window one).

Alright, well I have tried everything I can think of. I've spliced the fm modulator into the thick line, no good, spliced it into the thin line, no good, spliced it into both, still no good. I'm giving up on it, and it looks like I'll have to just get a new cd player, yuck.

Seems that would be the easiest thing to do.
