good advise cardana. im also on my third motor since aug last year from experimenting. i believe mardi has blown one two its unavoidable when your running serious power like that. and nealoc is the proud new owner of that monster.

 

mardi is on stock motor....when I saw him a few weeks ago at the track he was running 16.5 psi, and a 35 shot. He is Turbo, not SC.

 

Actually he's running a PFI Turbo Kit by Turbonetics. That's what his website says and hopefully this is up-to-date.

Damn......why do all the insane Maxi-enthusiasts have to live in the eastcoast. I've yet to see anyone running anything close to these guys here in California.

Just watched a racing video on his website, he went up against a Camaro (WS6 LS1)...very intimidating looking. The announcers were a little confused why a Maxima is going heads up against it. I think the announcer was commenting that the Maxima is probably a rear wheel drive or something. The camaro made tons of noise but not enough go to kill the Max. The video was cut short, I wanted to here what they said after.

 

that video is a classic!!! You have to give Matt his props, he loves the 1/4 mile track. None of his stuff is shady to the point that is questionable. For now hes the fastest Maxima in the US! he always was.

 

about to bolt one back up to my 95. That will be my 3rd SCer kit. I am probably going small 2.87. I started off 3.25 then I got my 2nd kit 3.125 and now this is my third 2.87 and hopefully some juice to bring my torque up. I need boost to kick in instantly! I am still parting out my 98 maxima. Turbo is off and its about to get broken down some more. Then all I have to do is put it back together stock. I dont think I want to ever mod a car like that again. Thats way too many mods!!

That wasn't my intent at all. I just saw all the videos at 4drspeed.com . There's a lot of fast Maxima's out there. Not stating absolute facts about anything, and I did say that he probably sold his car so there's really no point in repeating that. I love all Maxima racing videos but Hal's are my favorites. However, Mardigrasmax's camaro race video owns too.

 

Man you guys are quoting some old info. Hal put down 538whp and 603tq on 14.5psi w/ an SP66 turbo and a 65shot. That's the highest he ever dynod to my knowledge, but not the most power the car ever made. He did some other things that never made it to the dyno. I've got a picture of his boost controller at 1.61bar which is 23psi, and he also ran a 125shot on the motor as well at one point according to a post of one of his buds who helped him tune the car on another board. Who knows how long the motors lasted under those conditions though.

I've driven CMAX's boosted Max... all I can say is my car feels like a slug...

 

I don't know, as it sits right now set at about .9bar which is 13psi approx on a T61, I'd estimate its putting down 410-420ish to the wheels. Its got a 50shot jetted but I haven't sprayed it yet, there's no point when I can spin the snow tires a 90mph anyways. If this winter ever ends I'm going to start getting to the track and the dyno and see what I can do. And once I get a wideband I'm going to start turning the wick up again on it, but wideband is going to wait a little while I'm going to build a transmission and get some traction for it first.

Yea I can't say Ive had the best luck with the car, but with the money invested and as the car sits right now theres no way I can give up on it. Im just hoping to have it ready before MAXUS...

 

A bare bones SC setup can be built for $1000-$1400. Thats the way I'm doing it.

Man, forget the Eastcoast. The midwest is synonimous for boost.

 

I don't know if anyone has more boosted max's than the east coast

 

if we don't have the most boosted then I'm damn sure we have the fastest ones, boosted or not.

 

ATL had like 5 turbo'd and 5 SC'ed at one point....that was one crazy summer.

 

East coast owns all...I can't imagine hearing several boosted max's revving and tearing it up at one place - just imagine that sound. Hopefully I'll get around to seeing someone's in person someday, gotta find someone in the NE.
