Temperature Gauge is going crazy

Temperature Gauge is going crazy

I dont know why but the temp. gauge is going all the way to hot and goes back down, but the car is definetly not over heating. Could someone help me out here! Thanks.

Has to be something to do with the sensor/thermometer, or the cluster. Since you have a '95, it might be the cluster. Make sure it really isn't overheating though.

yeah im pretty sure it not over heating, fan goes on. I even open the hood and everthing is ok. sometimes right at start up it goes up, guess Ill check the cluster. Thanks

Well my guage does the same thing and sometimes my climate control won't start the fan for heat. I have to do it manually. Where is the temp sensor located?

If it happened to me, I'd change the sensor. It's only $25 and easy to do. See if that works.

mine has done it a few times too. i changed the thermostat about 3 months ago or so and changed the ectc a while ago, so i'm hoping it's the gauge itself. i have a spare so i'm gonna swap it when i put in my gauge rings and hopefully it'll fix it. as long as your car isn't overheating i wouldn't worry too much, unless it does it all the time which would be annoying but probably not be dangerous.

my temp gauge flickers up and down like crazy for about 5-10 min but stops once my car is at normal temp
