Hey guys, have been getting into fights with my mom over how I'm dumb for putting together my own exhaust rather than going with whatever POS the mechanic suggested. He quoted me $300-$350 including installation for whatever he wante to put on...but instead I went with a Budget B-pipe (resonated) and a Borla Pro XS muffler with a Borla tip. Total cost for the parts came to $376 including shipping. I will need to have the tip welded on to the mufflerr, and likely a short piece of pipe made to connect the muffler to the Bpipe (I have a feeling the B pipe will be slightly short for the Borla). I may or may not put the B pipe on myself prior to seeing my mechanic. How much would you estimate such a job would cost if it's mostly just making a small pipe, welding 2-3 pieces, and hanging the muffler? I was guessing around $100 but please let me know if I'm far off, thanks

 

1.5 to 2 hours of labor. The pipe should cost about $10 - $20

 

prolly more than 10-20 bucks.. my guess is somewhere around 40-50. for some welds, cutting and such. i doubt its worth the muffler shop to put ur car on a lift cut and weld some pipe and hangers or w/e for 10 dollars. Just saying because i know how alot of those places are from past experience or friends. but hey, ya never know maybe they will.
