Did it myself a few weeks ago. VERY hard if you have big hands. Fairly difficult replacing the tensioner once you get the old one out.

Definitely NOT worth paying an autoshop or dealer hundreds of dollars to do this.

It took me about 2 - 3 hours getting the OLD one out and putting the new one in. Go slow (if you move fast and accidentally drop the piston into your cover, you will be hosed).

The replacement is done by FEEL alone. No sight. That's what makes it so difficult -- unless of course you raise the engine.

drained all your powersteering fluid out, unplug one of the hoses and you can move the resevoir out of the way. that'll make some breathing room for you. when i tried to replace mine a month ago, i ran into a problem where the replacement part is different from the old part even though i order the part number given in one of the how-to's. the piston from the newone wasn't hitting the chain guide. i ended up putting the old one back in.

I did this when I put on my UDP. I didn't touch the power steering. It helped having the belts off and being able to get to it for top and bottom. My new tensioner didn't "seem" to line up right either but it stopped the noise.
