A while back, I saw a post explaining how to "steam clean" my engine. I have a '98 GLE and want to perform a fuel system cleaning, but don't want to pay a service station their inflated prices. which hose do I disconnect and plumb into the cleaner/water?

A fuel system cleaning will clean the fuel system (obviously). The "steam cleaning" procedure advocated by some people introduces water or a solvent into the intake manifold. This completely bypasses the fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel injectors, and fuel pressure regulator.
