New Maxima owner!

Hi, everybody.

I'm new here, so I'll introduce myself. My name's Tim and I just bought my first Maxima (a pearl white '99 SE that I've named "Brovemobile") on Saturday and got rid of my POS '92 Accord LX. My new baby only has 71k on the odometer, and there isn't so much as a scratch on the exterior. The dark gray cloth interior is perfect too. Even the wheels are spotless. The only downside to the car is the auto transmission, but I've never heen spoiled by owning a 5spd, so I don't know what I'm missing.

I'm really glad I stumbled across this site. My first mods will definitely be clear bumper lenses from custommaxima.com, and a pair of white "MAXIMA.ORG" stickers (if I can find out how to get them).

I'll try and post a few pictures of the Brovemobile after a wash/wax this weekend.

Clear Corner lenses can be found cheaper on Ebay, the MAXIMA.ORG stickers http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=386962

For performance i would recommend getting a Y-pipe, for the most cost effective get either the Warpspeed ALuminized(160 shipped), or the Budget Stainless Steel(20? shipped)

Welcome to the .Org, looks like you have been reading already, but make sure you read the STICKIES have fun, and enjoy your stay

BTW you are missing a TON by not getting a 5spd, i love mine hehe

Congrats on your new ride and welcome to the org.

Be prepared for the 5 speeders to run you over. They will rock past you whilst giving the finger and shouting "Long Live Manuals!!" lol

Keep your stock stuff in the basement. If you want to sell her in the future, not too many people want a modded car.

Welcome to the .org. Although mechanically inept, I have learned a lot since I joined. I even bought a Haynes manual recently, which you should consider doing. Long live the 5-speed! Now if I can just avoid the dreaded differential bearing problem, lol!

I agree with rmurdoch.. The first thing you need to get is a Haynes manual. Then start modding. I am relatively new here as well (just got my Max 4 weeks ago) and I have learned so much from all the people here and by reading the stickys. Definatly read ALL the stickys. It will help you avoid asking questions that are already answered elsewhere. And congrats on joining the team.
