First, thanks for hosting such a great online resource!

I've read the "How To" section already as well as countless other online guides, I'm still having problems.

My 95 Maxima SE came with one remote, which I lost after ordering two new ones. I made sure that the new remotes match the FCC ID and such EXACTLY. They are even from the same year and model! I'm using the factory service manual to add the new remotes:

1) Close and lock doors
2) Insert and remove key more than 6 times within 10 seoonds (two flashes)
3) Turn to accy
4) Press lock on the first remote (two flashes)
<add other remotes here>
5) Remove key
6) Unlock driver door, open, close

The first time I followed the procedure I saw the two flashes after step 2 but didn't finish properly, I haven't seen the flashes after step 2 since. After MANY attempts, even slower inserting and removing (oh baby), I went on without the confirmation. I see the flashes after step 4 but the remote doesn't function when I'm done.

CAN ANYONE HELP?

What's the secret to the insert/remove procedure? Why would step 4 work without step 2 being confirmed?

I'm going out of town this weekend and I'd love to have keyless again before then.
