Since I had so many LEDs that I got from the group deal for a$$ cheap a while back, I decided to try to make my own LED light bar for under the dash. I went to my local Ace Hardware and picked up $2 worth of stuff to mount the LEDs on and $5 worth of thin speaker wire and went to work. 3 hours later and (gore warning!) one bloody thumb later I had one real nice 12" LED light bar made and installed in my car for dirt cheap.

I'm not sure I wanna go through that 3 more times for the other dash side and under each front seat. I'm thinking about buying some off ebay. For $50 I can get 4 of them.

My question is about wiring these puppies up. Each bar comes with a power adapter plug on it. How can I wire up 4 of them? Can I tap into the wires and wire them all to my cigarrete lighter wires?

are you wiring them up to some kind of switch or just straight into the power source? another thing, how much power is needed to power the led sticks? and maybe a link to see the leds?

this is what i did.....i have one of those 4 in 1 sockets that you plug into your cig lighter and it has 4 plugs on it to power ****. i cut my cig lighter wire and tapped this 4 to 1 thing into it. I ran the wire from the cig lighter wire to one of those switches on my dash below the gauges cluster(as you might of seen) , and back to the 4 to 1 thing. then connected negitive to negitive cig lighter wire.

i woudl imagine we wants to run them to a switch and just one power source, that way he can just flip a switch and all go on and off, rather then turning them off individually and all going to dif power sources...thats at least what i would want...how would u be able to pull thsi off?

Hard wire them to the battery and use a relay to trigger them off or the dash light or headlight circuit, this way you can add more without worrying about blowing the fuse.

you could wire it to that light light that goes to the coin tray (or atleast thats what I use it for) so that way when you turn on your light then will light up. or to an independant source so that you could turn them on/off at will.

I have the one wired up to a switch that I put in one of those spots on the dash under the gauges and then tapped into the cig lighter wires. I can turn it on/off at will right now. I'll take pics here in an hour or so.
