I love my AGX's when its warm but the winter is a little harsh... I have Tein S-Tech's and I love the drop aswell... Changing settings is a breeze... But on those boots, Chariot your right, they suck... I believe they broke within a month??? The Teins and AGX is like a christmas themed suspension, Green and red...(an im bored comment) lol

hey Duckie, i will put this gently - you won't come crying to me , you will come crying back to the forums about the bad experience you've had with your "used" agx's

and $500 for complete strut assmebly of GR2's and H&R springs , ready to bolt on to your car is a fine deal.

Nick.

I agree on not using used struts. You don't knwo where they've been. If they're free, sure! I wouldn't buy used struts though.

I only paid 350 for my agxs(new) & 100 for a set of mildly used eibachs, so 450 for new agxs & eibachs together sounds like a better deal than 500 for gr-2s w/h&r springs, considering gr-2s are alot cheaper than agxs.

$500 for complete strut assembly, everything is already put together and ready to bolt on to your car , no need for messing with spring compressors.

Struts and springs have less than 5k on them.

I will post it in the for sale forum.

once again, ill point out the biggest problem with this thread. your asking how struts ride, and getting input back from people that are riding on rims that range anywhere from 15" to 19", and there not telling you that... i can weld a steel bar into my car to replace my struts, and the ride will still be smooth if im on 15" rims and tires and driving on the roads out in las vegas.. be carefull who you listen to..

and ill add one more thing.. if anyone is happy with getting 20,000 miles out of a set of $400 struts shouldnt even be asking for opinions.. i dont know about about you guys, but im gettin sick and tired of having a car payment every month or two to fix things on a car thats paid for.

I've had my agx/eibach combo for about 40,ooo miles. The ride is very harsh but I think its worth it cause it handles like a dream . the front tends to bottom out quite frequently on turns. The rear pair has just started to leak, but what can u expect after 40,000 miles in NYC. I got mines at tire rack.com, best price for new pair after much research.

ok obviously you havnt been reading, no one has reported that their AGX struts are only lasting them 20k miles, everyone is getting 40k+ and with lifetime warranty you can just go get em replaced

for what its worth i've had my AGx's since 2002 and i've put on more then 57k miles on they've lasted just fine. If youre looking for close to OEM ride quality, these are not the ones for you, tokiko blues are teh way to go for that.

Im running AGX and Progress springs. I live on a dirt road. Had them on for ~10,000 miles and theyre still intact and as good as they were the day I put them in. I dont think theyre harsh at all.

Nick its not that i dont appreciate your advice, but like i said, your pickyness on ride quality is way above anyone elses i have EVER met.

since when illuminas are red ?

and yes , I am very picky about suspension and, I do want to share the knowledge I have , but when people don't want to listen and learn form somebody's else experience , that makes me really irritated.

I did gave you my best advice , but you didn't want to listen

Nick i already explained to you, i can deal with a bumpy ride, obviously you cant, this is why im saying its hard to take advice from such a picky person that barely even likes the stock ride. Its not that im not listening, its just that your advice is contradicting many others on the forum. like where in this entire thared does anyone say their AGX only lasted 20k? i didnt see that anywhere. like i said, i am willing to deal with the harsher ride. and if your talking about that blowing, or leaking, thats what the lifetime warranty is for.

the red strut is an AGX.......and if you are buying them fomr someone eles but them they do not offer the warrenty....also remember that their are holds on the warrenty like if you are dropped more than i think an inch and half the warrenty does not hold threw, and they can tell due to the beating and marks inside the strut.

you just don't get it , you think you will be able to deal with bumpy ride
but once the harsh reality kicks in , you will be very frustrated about the way your car behaves on expressway at speeds over 70mph.

about 2 years ago when Illumnias came out , hundreads of members simply "dumped" their KYB AGX's with way less than 20k on them

and as far as the liftime warranty - do you really want to mess with your suspension again , that will cost you money for replacemants and alignments

why not just save up , buy the good stuff and enjoy trouble free ride?

Nick.

AGX's don't even come close to the Illuminas ride comfort. I said this before in a thread long ago, "The AGX's feel flawed compared to the Illuminas."

This is a fact.

sorry to go a little off the topic, but illuminas are changeable through the top mount in the rears? just like the fronts in agx's? if so they'll be so much more easier than agx's rears.

A the common alignment myth continues to survive. We do not need an alignment after removing the struts.

I have had my AGX struts for over year now. I have H&R springs. I have my setting on 2/4. I have no Compliant, it is pretty smooth. If they go bad I will get the illuminas.
