Mevi question.

-On my harlan Switch there are 2x red wires, 2x black wires and 1x green wire. On my GM solenoid there's a red and black wire. Then I have an led cover with a black/red wire that is mounted next to the dim switch light, It lights up when the mevi is activated. Question is How does all this mess fit together?

-Vacumme part of it, The solenoid the bottem hole goes to the mevi and the other top 2 go where? Im guessing on the the canister and the other to the fuel pressure regulator vac? Im going to do this soon, and need your help to not mess up in any way.

Thanks for your replies.

Should've got the summit.

My vacuum canister only has 2 holes, one to the MEVI the other to the manifold, or any other source of vacuum.

I don;t remember my harlans swithes too much, but I thought they only had one red and one black? Anyways, did it come with instrusctions? Because the way to hook it up is in there.

Red = Power
Black = GND
White = actuator gnd (to open/activate)
Green = actuator

I could be wrong, it's been a while.

i put my mevi on about two months ago and had a problem with the hose hook up. with many replies deezo's hook-up got it working.

on the solenoid dont use the polished tip. use the two that are on the same side . i have to go look under the hood to give you exact placement tommorow.

the harlan should have 4 wires.. very simple... green go to igniton source, red to 12v, black to ground, and white to the map baro switch. for the gm switch, the red goes to power and the ground goes to the harlan switch, to the white wire.

You and one other memebr out of about 10-15 that I know of have had problems we'll round that # to 12, and there are 2 rare cases where it had worked out. So 2/12 = 1/6, soo ... 83% have had it fail, and I've been through 2 Harlans in 3 months, and had one summit for over a year, no problems.

I think because ppl get confused with the wiring part, that they fry the switches..

It worked for maybe 20 out of 30 consecutive times, then would just die out gradually, and finally would wig out everytime I reset it. The 1st time I didn't use a relay, second time I did.

Maybe i don't know how to connect the harlan, but the Summit is actually mroe difficult to connect but worth it. Summit is also a better brand, and you get more for what you pay for, Harlan and summit were the same price and the harlan looked like someone made it in their ecletronics 101 class.

Same here, and I've got two of them. I know of one guy who has four, and he has never had a problem, either.

One thing to remember is that the Harlan switch opens up a circuit to ground. I think some people have been using it thinking it supplies 12V.
