not running/no spark
ok, first off my car isn't running, for some reason i shutt it off normally and went inside my house came back out an hour later started it and about 3 seconds later it died (it seemed like someone hit a kill switch or something) i attempted to restart it 2 times after that and it did the same thing, and now its not even running at all now. "supposedly" it's not getting a spark,in the sparkplugs, so i decided to try and do the self diagnosis, i swear to god i tried everything, i know i was turning the screw beacause i could sorta see it but and i could feel it stop when it hit a certain point in either direction. only problem is i don't get anything as far as check engine light flashing or anything, the normal lights are there that light up when you turn the key but thats it. i could not get it blinking for anything. if anyone can help, please lemme know. also one more question, is the camshaft position sensor suppose to have oil in it? because someone i know was saying i need to replace it because it had oil in the plug part, but another buddy of mine said that its suppose to have oil. thanx

Considering you do have a '99 are you using the original key with the chip? Maybe the VRIS system is not working correctly?
-It's just another possibility. The VRIS system would normally let a non-chipped key run the car for a couple of seconds and then kill the engine. Then go into a theft deterrant mode and not allow the car to be started.
--------------
Could be your MAF...any recent modifications?
--------------
You have also checked all fuses?...especially the fuel pump fuse?

It's definatly not the key, the key i am using is the one i got with the car, i haven't gotten any copies or anything, so i know it can't be the key.
I've checked all the fuses under the dash, none of them seemed to have a problem. and no I haven't had any modifications done. only thing closest to that would be i had the oil changed and the thing that you hook up to the fuel injector line and it cleans it out or something? not sure, but the place did it for me, it's called a punch.

hmm, it could be, i guess you never know till you try and find out. is there a way to test the key to see if the chip is bad? i would hate to spend 110 bucks to get it reprogrammed for that not to be the problem.

I am willing to bet its your key. After reading your symptoms, I tried to start my sisters car with a hardware store copied key. I cranked it, started up, 2-3 seconds later it died, after that it would just crank. I dont know if u need a new key, just bring it to the dealer and have it programmed.
