Red or Yellow Optima

red top is recommended for under the engine startup and a moderate system. Yellow top is recommended for your trunk; to power up a heavy system. blue is recommended for marine use.
all should come with a 7 year warranty; 3 year direct replacement, rest is prorated.
my red top is great.

I have the NAPA version of the red top battery. Which I belive is made ny Optima but NAPA is just sticking the decal on it. It carries the same 7 year warranty and 3 year free replacement. It has a very long reserve charge. Very happy with it.

Yellowtops are designed for cars that have heavy stereo systems or mods that require a lot of power (hydralics, and other stuff). they are deep cycle, thus allowing for almost complete discharges and recharges. red tops are used primarily for starting the car, although some guys are using them with no problems running their stereo systems. i have had both kinds before in my car and personally liked the yellowtop better.

i have a red top and could not be happier. my original red top battery stopped holdin a charge after a year had 3 year warranty so got a new one for free and this has been going strong for almost 2 years. i will get a yellow in the near future to throw in the trunk.

I wouldnt waste money on an optima. You can get the gold Diehard from Sears thats equal or if not better than the optima red or yellow for a lot less cheap. Optimas are good for offroading because of the durable outside, but for a maxima?

I'm not so sure about that. Sears Diehard battery is about 50 bucks w/a limited warranty. Optima is 100 w/ a 7 year, deep cycle. There are better batteries out there, but IMO, Sears Diehard isn't one of them.
