Replacing rotors, cheaper ones cause squeeking??????
This weekend I will be replacing all rotors and pads.. I am getting good brake pads that I know for a fact do not dust much or squeek.. But my question is that if I get the fairly cheaper rotors would that cause any squeeking later on??
I mean the rotor just sit there and are metal, and cannot be much difference from any of them, or am I mistaking?
All help is greatly appreciated.. Thanks

Thermal properties, casting methods, phase the metal is in when taken out of the cast, but all these essential paly a small role here, unless the synthesis of the rotor is greatly differed from other methods of process, but in this case, all negligible.

Rotors are basically just heat absorbers - good ones will be made of a material that won't warp or wear too quickly, especially when pushed to their thermal limits. Buy good quality basic rotors and don't worry about them, if you ask me.
Squeaking is typically caused by pad vibration (or the wear indicator on the old pads). When installing new pads, I strongly recommend buying a shim (brake hardware) kit, and liberally cleaning the caliper assembly with brake parts cleaner. The shims control pad vibration better than any anti-squeal pad goop can.

Squeaking? Likely more a pad thing than a rotor thing. To truly avoid squeaking, don't use the cheapo semi-metallic pads. As far as the rotors go, just make sure you don't buy the Chinese knock-offs for like $20/ea at PepBoys/Autozone/etal. Stick with US/Canadian aftermarket, OEM, or performance parts.
The links provided above, btw, are excellent choices.

Thanks for all you guys input and help. I may have to get some of the Brembo rotors that CystumMax recommended. Redlinemax.com says its $89.00 for front and rear, so i'm leaning towards them. I will also be replacing the brake hardware being that my car is like 10 yrs old and on the stock hardware probably.
Can anyone else recommend these rotors or can compare them to the reliability from warping and such to the stock rotors??? Thanks.

I want to let you know, Brembo does not make Cross Drilled/ Slotted Rotors. Those rotors you see in that picture are the blank Brembo Rotors, They where made into cross Drilled/ Slotted Rotors. These are the Real Brembo one's and they don't come in silver color.

Coating is worthless, it rubs off pretty quickly. A rotor is designed to be plain steel (unless it's a porsche or F1), so a little rust is normal if the car has been sitting.

I just did my brakes on all four, pads and rotors. I put cheap rotors on. Its been two weeks and theres some stuff that looks like rust on them already. Tried rubbing it off a bit with a rag, didn't come off. Whats the best way to get that stuff off? Is it cause of cheap rotors or something else?
