Changed my Knock sensor still getting....
really bad gas milleage, plus Im still getting the code, oigh its driving me insane.....I know I need to replace one of my o2 sensors, but shouldn't I still get a slightly better gas mileage than what I was getting before? Did anyone here had a similar problem and was able to solve it. Yes I read up on the FAQs and my Haynes manual.
I had the same problem..What I did was took it off, and retourqed it..Make sure it is on tight...but not too tight..reset ECU again,,make sure you get 0505 code after your done...If you still get the Ks code , you might need a new KS harness...you can order it online or go to your local nissan dealership..it's only about $20.
A bad o2 sensor can have a very bad effect on gas mileage. In my case it made a 9 mpg difference.
From what I heard the knock sensor will have major effect on acceleration and only make a 2 mpg difference which you might not even notice.

05 05 Code?
I had the KS code (03 04) come up a while back, then the Rear 02 (09 02) code. I cleared the ECU and the KS Code came back... I cleared it again and I am getting the 0505 code?
I though that was a "ghost" code? From the stickies I found "0505
No Failure Recorded/Detected"
Is there a better way to clear the ECU than the turn the screw back and forth 3 times? Do you need the dealer to completely clear it?
Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Is it just the KS code or is there also an O2 sensor code?
If you only have the KS code and replaced the KS then the harness might be the prob
If you have both KS & O2 sensor codes and you replaced the KS only, then the bad O2 sensor is setting off the KS code again.
I think if you disconnect the battery overnight then it'll erase everything

to Xmaxm, if youve followed all the direction then you should be ok, give it atleast a week for the timing to move back up to its normal level...if you still have a code after a week then I would try your harness or just do the the voltmeter test!....
