INNER TIE ROD Removal Tool - Where 2 BUY?
INNER TIE ROD Removal Tool - Where 2 BUY?
My tie-rod threads are seized, so my car cannot be aligned.
Apparently, the tie rods need to be cut out of the car, then the inner tie rods removed with a specialized tool that looks like a long socket.
PART numbers would be greatly appreciated, if anyone has any leads. If you have this tool, I will consider purchasing it from you - please provide manufacturer & part #, if available, so I can verify correct application).
If you have experience with this job, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance!

PS: All manner of lubing, soaking, heating, striking & loosening the threads has been attempted already - I'm way beyond "just try a little PB Blaster."

never did one on a maxima but i think they are pretty much all the same.
1. remove the wheel
2. remove the outer tie rod
3. remove the rack&pinion boot that covers the inner tie rod
there is a special tool and it is a tube w/ a special socket on the end. if you get the tool, you will need a breaker bar if the threads are that tight. you wont need to cut the tie rod usually thats why it is a tube. it goes around the tie rod and locks on to that little ball looking thing on the end of the tie rod. heat it up real good first and put some muscle into it. dont know where you would get the tool though. i got mine from a snap-on dealer who comes into the shop.
