97 steering wheels are different than the 98-99 ones, just so you know.

Hmm, maybe I gave you some wrong info. I have a GLE, so my steering wheel is different, but it seems as if the 97-99 SE steering wheels are the nicest ones. Not sure if the 95-96 SE ones are the same, but these look really nice:

yeah their def. nicer, the 95-96 ones are ugly, i guess it'll be trial and error for me if no one else has tryed swapping them before, from what i've been told its just a couple security torx and a center nut that holds it all together, maybe when i pull it off i'll find a 96 bag on the shelf to see if the conections are the same, maybe even match up the control modules to be on the safe side, i dont see why they would be that diferent other then styling

Yeah, I can almost guarantee you there is no difference, other than cosmetic. Definitely let us know how that works out!

Please keep us up to date. My 96 leather wrap is a bit chewed up and would love to put a new wheel that's in better condition in there provided it isn't that involved. Someone told me on here that it isn't that hard, but I want you to do it first. Good luck!

Im sure the swap is possible as long as you have both the wheel and the airbag. On a side note...check out this swap (03 Altima wheel in a 4th gen):
