Blue/Red Gauges w/in-dash shift light[pics]

I think this is the 4th version I have tried and it’s getting much better, I’m almost happy with it. This time I used some 10mm and High Flux LEDs and it came out pretty good, im just having some dimming issues that i have to look into.

Enjoy.

Here is the shift light i put in using a Summit RPM switch:

i found 1.8mm leds that i stuck under the needles

i also used 5mm that i glued to the optics

I then used electrical tape to cover the optics for the needle so that i dont get the purple color.

How did you get the red in just the redline without it spilling over?

When I saw the title of the thread I chuckled because it sounds like my car. Your shift light is a lot more out of the way than mine, and it looks nicer that way. At least mine is brighter
I also like your gauge faces more than mine. Mine are much bluer, while it appears that yours are more white. What brand is that?
For reference, here's my interior:

For some reason my camera can't get a good pic of the gauges at night, so this is what comes out....but it's obviously a lot brighter and clearer in real life.

that's sick. forget a write up by the way. Even if you told me how to do it i would't be able to do that good a job. Although if you decide to open a guage customization business, you've got a customer

very nice work man. that is impressive. i especially like the depth of the red color, it's not too dark and not to bright. very nice choice and work.

Geo blazes the way again!

The shift light looks like it was meant to be there; where did you put it in the cluster (is there an open spot there?) and how did you make it?

Are the main LEDs blue or white? How did you get the hash marks for the 2 MPH increments to be a nice blue while making the hash marks for the 10 MPH increments white? That's a very nice touch. Or is that just the way the light comes through the smaller slits?
