problem witht he max...

well, wife drove the max and when she pull up in the driveway and the car die. start it up and it start right up and die. step on the gas while starting it, same thing happen, start and die. when it running idle , give some gas it die.
the check engine light on and i do the pull the code and this' what i found;

9L 8S Engine coolant temperature sensor
1L 2S Mass Air flow sensor
3L 4S knock sensor
5L 4S auto tran control unit signal to ECU

first the check engine light on, the 9L 8S it's been there for a while and I didnt fool with it. I will said it been on and off for almost 1 years. When the light on, the 3L 4S are detected on it too.

today when i pull the code out, i got 4 codes, as mention above. I check on the Mass Air flow Sensor and follow the Hayes manual on checking on them, it seem to be ok.

where's the Engine Coolant Temp. Unit at? and also the Auto Tran control unit signal to ECU?

my first conclusion to the engine die are as follow, clog fuel filter, spark-plugs and wires. i havent done that to the car since i bought it 2 years ago. the air filter look clean and the front of the engine look ok, some oil resude on the manifold, not bad looking and there's no using oil.

please help since this' wife car and she is pissing on me now and demand me to let her drive my truck.

95 Nissan Maxima GXE 166,xxx miles, auto, stock.

Don't worry about the 0504, that will go away once you fix the other three. Concentrate on the knock sensor. They have a group deal going on now, check it out. As for the other ones, I don't know much about them, but I hope someone helps you out with them. Good luck and let me know if you need anything.

The knock sensor has nothing to do with his stalling issue.

Replace the engine coolant temp sensor, clear the errors and see if your stalling stops. If it continues, then I suspect the MAF sensor is bad as well.

The Engine coolant temp sensor is the sensor closest to the engine block, if you follow the upper radiator hose it will lead you to it.

Where/when did I say it did? I simply said to concentrate on the knock sensor, because that's the one that will make it run badly, and rob fuel economy.

The Engine Coolant temp sensor will also make you car run bady, in fact replace that before the knock sensor, your car will die on startup as it thinks its running too hot or too cold due to the sensor being stuffed.
