CEL light once again
CEL light once again
wow, they just keep poping up nowadays for me
0505
No Failure Recorded/Detected
BUT, after running the car with no load at 2,000rpms for about 2 minutes, I once again get a CEL light. Read the codes, 5 long blinks, 5 short blinks
No other codes are stored but the light is gone.

sounds like you left your ecu in diagnostic mode, make sure you turned the screw on the ecu back after you debugged...
and no, the scan tool won't help you since you already know what the code means already
you will always get 05-05 when the ecu doesnt detect anything wrong - that's a good thing... the ecu only does it when you have the screw turned to "maintenance" mode on the unit for debugging purposes - at least that's how it is on my '97 SE.

I don't think I was clear, the CEL light came off only after I reset the ECU and it had an 0505 code. Before I reset the ECU though, the CEL light was on but with a 0505 code.
No worries, I'm just going to reread my stored hidden codes this afternoon one lunch break. No CEL light yet.
All of this for a faulty negative terminal on the battery
