Question
Just had a question, my friends getting a high flow catalytic converter, and im getting a deal that includes a catback, is the catalytic converter the same as a catback, or if not whats the advantage of having one over the other? thanks for the help.

ummm catalytic converter (cat) cleans the air commin through your exhaust pipes. the catback is the piping that comes after the catalytic converter including the muffler for all intents and purposes. Putting a high flow cat on your car opens up that whole area that used to congested for the purpose of cleaning the exhaust.. but if you just have stock catback after that you don't gain much b/c you're still restricted all the way out the back of the car. Getting just a catback exhaust also helps a little, but not a lot. To see any real gains you have to get a free flowing exhaust all the way back - headers (optional) y-pipe, cat, catback.
