se gauges

my friend recently totalled his maxima. he stripped it today and i told him i would buy his gauges off him. he has the white se gauges, i have the ugly black gle/gxe gauges. first of all, what is a good price to offer him for his gauges? his car had 131k miles... also, how do i re-program so the miles are what my car actually is... (i have 82,5xx miles)
thanks

Offer him like $50. or less, they are not that much I don't think. And if the gauges are from a 98-99, they are digital and cannot be turned back. If they are the older ones, they are analog and may be able to be turned back. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Good luck man!

$30 would be ripping him off, $50 would be you getting a good deal, and around $75-85 is the going price. I sold mine about 2 months ago for $90 shipped with 81k on it. Mine was a digital odometer so I dont know if the price gets bumped up for that.

Drive in reverse

I'm pretty sure you'll have to send those in somewhere to do this, they don't just mearly turn due to fraud prevention

You definitely have not watched Ferris Buehler's (sp?) day off. Try the dealer. I bought 2 sets for around 60 shipped. 40 shouldn't be bad...

Simplest way to do it is the way I explained. It really isn't that hard.
