Allow me to introduce myself...
Hi everybody. I'm Eric. I'm 17 and a half. I'm not an alcoholic. I live in New Jersey. I used to have a 98 Volkswagen GTI VR6.... but that got killed by an suv . But on the bright side, now I have a shiny '96 Nissan Maxima SE 5-speed, completely loaded with all options (Bose audio roxors) with a whopping 87.5k miles on her. She's pearl white, and has stock sawblade wheels on her. She's bone stock. A fresh body for the slaughter.
So yeah, I've decided to sign up in order to get insight on what is a good idea and not for my Max. For traveling into darkness ius much better with some guides. So yeah, just wanted to say hi and what's up and I hope you people don't lead me into oblivion, like those tour guides in all those movies where the tour blows up(Jurassic Park)

I want to give my car a wing so big it can fly. To the super market. But yeah... Most likely something uninteresting like making her faster and improving suspension and handling. Then maybe I'll make the exterior pretty. Prolly just going to end up spending 3-4 or maybe even 5 grand. That should be enough to keep me satisfied in my ripe old age of young adulthood.

My Max
1996 Pearl White Maxima SE 5-speed (I just love typing that)
86,450 miles at purchase.
with
Bose Audio, Leather Seats, Power Seats, Locks, Windows, Sunroof, Heated Seats, ABS, and all that other fun stuff (everything but Automatic Transmission(ew)). For a grand total of *drumroll* $5,200. And the dealership did an oil change, replaced the rear brakes, gave it a full tank of gas (we ran out of gas on the test drive) and some other things besides making it all pretty that I can't think of off hand. Good guys at Acura.
It blue booked for like $7,000.

She's locked, stock, and ready to rock. All I need is a list of things to get started on. First thing's first though, that wheel gap needs to go like a group of Mongolians at a family dinner. (no offense to Mongolian .org members.)

Welcome to the org!...First thing you should do is look for that dreaded ghost Knock sensor (0304) code by doing a self diag on the ecu. If you do see 3 short and 4 long flashes, replace that old KS with a new one. Check "how to's" on how to do this..don't go the dealer to buy a new one (you'll get ripped off)..You can order it on ebay..by replacing this part you'll easily gain 15-20 butt hp...Good Luck!!

Welcome to the ORG, congrats on getting the best year Maxima built!
Springs are a great idea. To pick up some horsepower, your best bet is a Y-pipe, then maybe an intake. Take care of her, she'll last you through college and a lot more if you treat her nice!
After driving a Nissan you will wonder why you ever drove a crapwagon to begin with.
