ABS for 95 GLE?
I'm replacing my recently deceased 93 SE with a 95 GLE that has every option, except ABS.
Any idea if it's even possible to convert it over to ABS? If so, what kind of money are we talking here? It's something I'd like to have, but I'm not going to pay out the nose for it.

I don't know about ABS, but I'm curious about deceased Maximas. What are you doing to kill them? I thought they were supposed to last a long time. Are they just dying as in not up to your standards, or is the engine going out, or what? You modify and drive them hard?
I slammed my 1992 into a guard rail at 65, you can follow the link in my sig to see the pictures. My 1993 got hit by a Pontiac Aztek on March 23, no pictures of it yet, but it was totalled as well.

I don't think that it'd be feasible to retrofit ABS. I don't have the shop manual, but many times ABS require a different ECU or an ABS controller. Also, wheel speed sensors that you'll need at each wheel. Then there's the modulator.
I don't think the 4th Gen Max's have the great ABS systems. I have a '97 SE 5sp with ABS and the threshhold seems to be set too low, i.e. it starts pulsing and requires progressively heavier pedal effort to stop the car. I have a '96 Taurus with ABS that seems to stop much harder (and pulse a lot less!)
