Oil leak, dont know where its coming from.

Oil leak, dont know where its coming from.

Changed my morot back last year. And this newer 15k motor has a oil leak from somewhere. I dont know where its coming from. check the oil pan, and thats surely not it. its wet higher then that. anyoine habe any idea? its coming from the right and right rear'ish of the motor. its wet around and above the oil filter too. was like that when i brought motor. i lose about 1 quart in 2500 miles driving.
and ideas advice etc? thanks.

I take it that its a common problem If so, thats something I'm going to have to look for on my next oil change.

Yes, its very common but most people think its the oil pressure sensor since its in close proximity to the typical dripdown area from a rear VC leak. Pop off the rear VC and toss some RTV on there. It'll cost you $6 if you do it yourself. If you have someone do it you'll be out atleast $250 because of labor hours(Removing the IM is required.)

the rear valve cover can leak that much oil in 2500k miles? sounds about right i'd say. and i'll definetly have to check that out. cause the whole right and right rear of the motor under teh car is oil wet. leaks from way above the motor. thanks
