ECU code 0201 (1320)
Hey all:
Have not been around in a while, but would appreciate some opinions on a repeat 0201 code. There have been no "companion codes" thrown, i.e. CPS or cyl 1 misfire, making it tricky to diagnose. My mechanic says to wait until another code is thrown to pinpoint the problem, meanwhile I have to reset the ECU every few days.
Any ideas?
Thanks for any assistance,
~J

Does your engine run rough and missfiring? I good indication of a missfire would be a 'putt-putt-putt' or an occassional 'pop-pop-pop' noise emanating from the muffler. If you have that, disconnect a fuel injector harness one at a time and see if the idle changes. If it doesn't, than it would be that cylinder that is missfiring.
When and if you do find it, check the resistance on the coil pack, check the spark plug or replace it, and also check the resistance on the fuel injector harness.
If your engine is smooth and running excellent, its hard to diagnose. I would follow your mechanics advice and wait for a 'companion' code.

Hey Loe:
Thanks for your advice. The engine has run rough twice, for about 5 minutes at a time. No codes were thrown when this occured. Right now, the car is running like a top, with no hesitation whatsoever.
I think I'll just wait for more codes to pop up.
Thanks again fro your help.
