Try the McGuire's clay bar with Instant Detailer spray (sold at Pep Boys for $12-14 all in one kit). The key is to keep lots of "solution" on the windshield when rubbing the clay bar. Also make sure to break off a piece of the clay bar and flatten it to a thin (1/4 inch) x 2" diameter. I lived at the beach. It was the only way to minimize the effects of acid rain and salt spray. Do the whole windshield, get new Bosch blades and enjoy the quietest and cleanest wipers since the car was new. Good luck. Let me know how this turned out.

How often do you have to do that, to keep a clean windshield?
