what does this connector go to?

not sure how to explain it...

but there is a brown connector under my hood that isn't hooked to anything...

not sure where it goes or what it is or what it is for...

located to in front of the wire that goes from the starter to the battery..

anyone know?

I'm not sure what you are talking about but if you could get a picture of it, I might be able to find out.

you really will need pics its hard to imagine where the connector is, but if its a plug in connector I bet it needs to be plugged into something.

that's your waternator wiring harness, or the knudsen valve calibration node.

There are many more than just one plug for the auto. I can't recall the specific plug you're talking about. Snip it off and save weight.

I don't understand what the problem is here. Your car runs fine doesn't it?
Stop the brown nosing!
If it ain’t broke don't fix it!

I wouldnt agree cause it could cause a problem down the line, doesnt hurt to check it out and make sure that it isnt something important.

My guess is sine you have a GXE, its probably a plug that would be functional on a SE or even GLE model max.

actually, it might control the "fluid filled electronically controlled" motor and tranny mounts that the GLE's supposedly have...

The pics have to be hosted on a website, not from your hardrive.

That is definitely a possibility despite not being able to see the pics. I just cut mine off a week ago. I'll be able to tell if it is or not. I'm pretty sure mine was brown as well.

Uhm...the "flux capacitor boost unit" is only found on 1985 DeLoreans. Whoever told you that you had one on your Maxima was dead wrong

ShRapNeR thats the same plug i have unplugged, its probably is for the GLE electronic rear motor mount since all 3 trims use the same part number engine harness, i wouldnt worry about it. dont listen to the other morons trying to mess with you, they are probably just upset because they had to pay someone to wire their altezzas.

There's a lot of false information in this thread.

Section 3-45 of the Clinton manual outlines acceptable alternatives for humidors. You guys need to get your facts straight!

None of the stuff is true. The flux capacitor is from Back to the Future.

But back to the topic. Can you tell me more about those pictures? Where in the engine bay were they taken?

The picture shows the front of the automatic transmission. You can see the radiator return hose in one of the pictures.

The connector goes to the front motor mount that a couple of people have mentioned. Could be your front mount is not electrically controlled, so you have the extra connector. No big deal.

Either that or somebody stole your turbo-encabulator.
