Help

today while driving The brake light came on, and the battery light, so i went to my dealorship and they checked the battery its putting out 14.5 which is normal, and the brake light stays on even when the e-brake is down

any help is appreciated

Did you get your alternator tested also? On mine, those lights signaled a slowly failing Alternator.

Test Alternator and check brake fluid level and make sure its not low or close to empty.

yup check alternator, also check your belts, same thing happened to me and it turned out to be a tear in one of the belts and it came loose.

i just got an alt a month ago, they filled the fluids at the dealorship

i will check belts tomorrow, thanks for all your help guys

will also get alt checked, but i just got it checked by nissan two weeks ago because the recall required the install to be checked for my alt to work fine!!! it read ok and in working order, how long is the warrenty on alts? long that <2 months?

help, i have the same problem as well!! those lights keep going on

i check ym battery, it is good, and i checked my boltage when the car is running, and it has like 14.25 volts...

people said it was the alternator, but why am i getting good voltage?

are you trying to say that the dealership didnt/couldnt fix it.?
You did go to the dealership right.?

gowki, it means ur alternator may be on its way out. You should get it tested see how it checks out.

i think gowki's car is fine. its someone else that has problems.

thing is, the voltage on the battery when the car is off is 12 volts, and when the car is on it's 14 volts, so why are my lights still on?

Being that he was asking this question 3 years ago, I'm sure the problem has been resolved.

You say lights, meaning alt / brake?

I'd say it's your brake fluid for the brake light. And if the battery is good, that doesn't mean the alternator is good. Check the alternator @ AutoZone.

well, i got the problem solved

it was my alternator of course. i guess the voltage regulator went out, and was charging my car up to 18volts!!
