Cattman Fast Cat

So I'm in the shop with my mechanic and we look at eachother with confusion. Which way does this Cat go on?

The cat has no indication except for a longer side and a metal plate with some writing on it.

We took a guess and put the short side to the motor and long to the muffler.

the only thing is the writing seemed to be facing the wrong way.

Is it possible this is one of those A/B converters where it doesn't matter which way it is pointing?

the combs inside were bigger at the short end, and narrower at the long end.

If you put the long side flange down, you can read the writing.

so it looks like this:

Does anyone know which way faces the Motor, and which to the muffler?

If anyone has this cat, please let me know, I need to find out before my emissions test this week.

Ok I have noticed that my text drawing doesn't work well, it shows up differently than how I typed it.

anyway, you should still be able to understand what it looks like, just really narrow.

Well, I called cattman today and it goes longer side towards the motor. Aparently it is slightly narrower on the long end which is better for more exhaust flow.

The cat itself is mountable in either direction.

My sign on the fastcat points down to the ground. I found that it would only go on with the cover that shows CAMM facing down to the ground.

The plate is supposed to point down, but the long side of the cat is narrower, which creates a higher exhaust velocity. The long side is the front, but either way will still pass emissions tests.

Even with Cattman headers installed? That's what I'm worried about but I have another year until I have emissions..

I don't see why it would matter if you have headers or just a y pipe, its the same function regardless.
