How much noise does Y-Pipe really add? I heard that the new ones from stillen reduced the noise. I'd really hate to make my max any louder then it is.

The sound is almost stock. If you have a stock muffler system. A passenger wouldn't notice but you will.

honda whine?..vtec maybe?

i say bees in a can..cuz thats how ppl on here explain it..

to me it sounds like a rattle..like a baby rattle. say i rev my engine..the engine will roar and the ypipe will make a rattling sound when the revs drop...sounds cool to me..

i think maybe 8 of my friends have heard my car with the ypipe..and i had to explain to them what to hear for..

unnoticable really..

btw i have a cai and ypipe.

Well, I just had my Cattman Y-Pipe put on the other day and I hear NO sound at all and I hear no difference in the sound of muffler. You can't hear the sound at all. I like to call it HIDDEN POWER because those Honda rice-burners can't hear it, but when you race them, they will see it. Later all.

Hey thanx for the info! I like the idea of no additional noise. I see you have Borbet type Es, those are the exact same that I am planning on getting. Do you know how much they weigh? Did you drop your car and which springs/shocks did you use? Thanks

I did notice a power increase throughout the whole power grid, high end and low end. It is very noticeable. The addition of the y-pipe gave me the most HP increase than any other mod I have put on, even over the CAI. But it works great, but to really notice the effect of the y-pipe, you need a CAI.

I haven't dropped my Max, I do not think that I am going to because I have the body kit on now and do not want to be scraping left and right. I do not know the exact weight of the Borbets, but I can tell you that they are pretty light, but still weigh more than stock WHEELS, but do weigh less over the stock RIMS. Later all.
