Help me find the MAP sensor

For the life of me, I can't find the MAP sensor in my 96. Anyone have a pic or a general description of location?

similar thread

u will also notice it is pointless and only detects outside atmospheric pressure i think...i also believe many orgers here dont even keep it on to reduce weight?lol

also, i had a code for the map sensor and maf sensor and when i fixed maf sensor i reset the ecu and no codes at all...im not saying that fixing maf sensor fixes map sensor, im saying that it dont matter and im pretty sure its not always used like the maf sensor...

if ur getting the codes for the map sensor, check the wires connecting to it...if it looks like its been getting rubbed by something or watever...wrap it in electrical tape as shown in my pic on that link i have up there...
and as the guy says up there

it will say boost sensor on it for some reason...
my dealer tried fixing it first by taping the wires i think he charged my dad 200 and 90 at the time to check ecu code the first time (b4 i found out about this site...)now they saying 300 to replace it...ive been ignoring the light for months...and had no decrease in mileage or car speed or reliablity...i strongly suggest u ignore it or reset ur ecu code once a week or watever

ya you can run your car no problem without it connected. when i first bought my car, the CEL bulb was burned out and when i hooked a OBD-II scanner up, the code for the MAP sensor came up and it turned out that the wire connecting to that sensor had been cut, and i was driving like that for months.

i also find it very odd that mine was cut and as was urs, wat could possibly cut it there? i bet theres a secret society of maxima mechanis that know that if they cut that wire they will get more business and still not directly injur the driver..lol jokes
