I have a Stillen stainless steel muffler. Sound is really deep, love it. Doesn't sound like any 4 cyl. I've also heard the Greddy, which also sounds awsome, nice and deep. Good luck.

do you want a just a rear section or a cat-back system? how much is your budget?
anyways, if you are like me and do not have lots of money; check out the dynamax mufflers. the sound is deep, it sounds good. it drones just a little at around 2500rpms but goes silent at 3000rpms. i am very satisfied with it. And you have a choice of whatever tip you want. i have dual tips, looks good but i had to trim around the bumper. good luck.

HKS

Just get an HKS. I heard it saturday night and man does it sound good. I have heard the Stillen, and the Greddy, and it sounds better. Its a little pricy, but worth the money, i want to get it now.

Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but did you say the HKS sounds better than the Greddy? How does it compare performance wise?

HKS

I just picked up a HKS from a friend and I love it. I wanted just a deep tone, but didn't want it to get too loud at high rpms to draw too much attention. This muffler turned out to be just what I wanted. It has a nice low rumble up to about 3000 rpms but after that it becomes almost silent. When you are just cruising it sounds great.

Performance wise I'm not sure exactly what it will do. The only thing that I have noticed is that from about 5000 rpms till redline it fills a little peppier, but that is just my opnion. Hope this helps you out.

Well actually I believe that it is the sport. I didn't really pay for it...kindda bartered. My buddy got it free when he ordered a lot of stuff from Stillen and he just wanted a new stock muffler so I traded him mine for it.

Not bad huh?

dynomax

someone mentioned the dynomax muffler being nice. I also somehow bought this muffler. I have owned a stillen before this and I think stillen's was a bit to loud. THe dynomax sounds really good. I also recommend it to people. I know it isnt the most hspwr for a muffler. I think it may free up like 2-4 horses at the most. But it sounds great and any cole muffler would have one because it is just a ghetto universal muffler with a tiny bit of performance and real nice low tone....no throatiness at all. Swear to god. I get compliments on how phat my car sounds all the time and not from those shogun tuner guys with their 8" tip exhausts.

or if you really don't have money, just have a muffler shop replace/fabricate a piece of pipe with a 2 bolt flange and some hangers that matches up to the flange/bolts right behind/above the rear axle by the passenger side wheel.

it should cost less than $80 installed and give you as much gain as any bolt in muffler. as long as you have the stock b-pipe with the resonater, it should sound pretty deep.

if you want a sample of how it sounds, just unbolt the two bolts at the flange and pull the muffler off of it. Start up the car, and see how it sounds... it resonates slightly around 2000 to 2500rpm, but some of the other exhausts do as well.

if you don't like the sound, you haven't spent any money...

dynomax

I just have the dynomax muffler. I am waiting till I need to replace the rest of the exhaust...then its project nismo once again. I intend on getting some gains in my upgrading however. I replace things as they get bad and fall off. I dont have the dinero to spend on parts that replace parts that are already working. However I find myself saying things are "broken" more than I should. Like my rotors....I was like "Awww damn, I need all new rotors," so I got corss drilled stillens front and rear with pads. I like it when things need to get replaced...What I really want for a muffler is a HKS catback. But they cost mad loot.

LOL, I hear you buckwilly. I look forward to my clutch going out. I look forward to replacing my o2 sensors (justification to get a y pipe since I"ll be up there anyway), etc...
