Over Starting?

I have a problem when I start the car (not always about 25% of the time) the car sounds like it’s trying to start even thought it’s started.

Almost perfect example is if you were to start your car and keep turning the key once the engine has started… it makes that straining type sound.

Is my starter going or is there a more simple solution?

Thanks

okay i have plan to do it tomorow.

http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php/516 <-- says to use "synthetic lithium soap grease" but goes on to say that the reason for using that was beacuse he had nothing else around.

Is that a good grease to use or cant you suggest perhaps a VERY long lasting one?

Thanks again

Okay I went to my local place and this is all they had:

They have it also in a spray can but I thought this would be better? The spray can is not high-temp, its white lithium… I can exchange it no problem if you think the spray can would make it easier in anyway. (or better for the starter)

Thanks again for your help

that stuff will work just fine. its not really a big deal, any grease will do, but lithium is the best to use (it doesnt dy out as fast as other greases may).

good luck.
