ball joints!!!

****ing piece of **** son of a ***** rusty *** no good ****ing i wont come loose because im a pain in the ****ing *** even with a blowtorch and pickle fork and wd40....sorry, just had to vent this out

Are you replacing just the ball joints, or the lower control arm? I'm planning on replacing my LCAs soon!

im putting in es bushings...still. i am a lil more than halfway done, but i thought might as well replace the ol ball joints too. im not replacing the whol lcas, as mine are a lil rusty but in pretty good overall shape. i hope the stay that way when im done taking the ****ing balljoints out. word to the wise: spray penetrating oil on the balljoint way prior to removing them. they are comparable to the cat converter bolts.

Are you repalcing your inner tie rod ends? I have excessive play in the steering & was wondering if you're only doing the ball joints/es bushings?

ya only the es and (now) ball joints. this one guy Nick did a complete restoration, look for the thread a few pages or so back.

Wait, you're trying to pull a balljoint from the LCA with a picklefork? You need a press or balljoint tool. (Incidentally, they're on sale at HarborFreight for $30)

I did find the pushing the balljoint out of the knuckle took some hefty leverage on the picklefork - I needed to use my jackhandle on it. Definitely needed the PB Blaster.

thanks, but no no no. i rented all i need. i cant get the balljoint out from the knuckle/hub, (whateva.)..where my calipers are connected. im dim in some ways, but not that dim lol. hmm, the jack arm, now that's an idea!
